1. Summarize your activities, including new content created. Provide all the hyperlinks of new content.
In this assignment, I created two new posts (and this summary post, of course). The first post discusses the reservoir sampling algorithm, which is an algorithm that can be used to uniformly sample without replacement from a stream of unknown size. The second post is a bit of a joke post about how goofy Master Oogway is in Kung Fu Panda. In addition to these new posts, I also added them to the site directory, which required making a new drop-down “Other” for the Oogway post.
2. Summarize your “Exploration” in Google Analytics 4. Include a screenshot.

For my GA4 Exploration, I used the path exploration to visualize how users navigate through the website. For example, we see that the majority of users land on the home page, which is to be expected because that’s where the master directory of student websites points to (the one that started on the career post must have been a repeat visitor who had the linked cached). From there, we see visitors branch off into the various posts, with my posts about my career and hobbies being the most popular… so far. Now that I have some more posts (that aren’t the three posts everyone had to do) it will be interesting to see which will be the most popular.
3. What have you started to see that you have not known/seen before in your site?.
One thing that I noticed in the exploration above is that page navigation is very nonlinear, which makes sense when you think about every page having the top-level navigation bar. For example, people might go from the homework directory to the hobbies post, or they might do it the other way around. You can’t really predict how users will bounce from page to page unless you restrict the visibility of navigation to certain pages. Another thing I noticed that I wasn’t expecting was that I had a couple visits from mobile users. It’s only been a small portion of the visits, but I might want to make sure the website looks fine on mobile if it becomes more common.
